“Metal Magic – Chasing and Repousse”

An exhibition of 17 artists who share a passion for these ancient metalworking techniques. Completely individual,
some artists reflect traditional roots, while others have a more modern approach. The show coincides with the publication of
a book on traditional and non-traditional chasing and repousse titled “Chasing and Repoussé: Methods Ancient and Modern”
by Nancy Mēgan Corwin, in which many of these artists are represented. This book will be available from the artist and publisher in early Fall 2009.

Nancy Mēgan Corwin will present an overview of contemporary chased and repoussé work, ranging from the classically executed to the non-traditionally innovative- from artists who have mastered this visually powerful, painstaking and meditative process.
The Seattle Metals Guild is a non-profit organization whose membership is comprised of people with varied interests and involvement in traditional and contemporary jewelry and metal arts.
